they are 3!!!

the boys are officially three (well since a few weeks ago)

i cannot believe they are3, where did the time go, i still remember going to kaiser on friday 8/01/08 for a non stress test and been told i was having contractions (i didn't feel a thing) and told to come back when they were 10-15 min apart. kind of hard to tell when you cannot feel them, but at 9:30 pm on friday we headed to the hospital. there was i was told i was 5 cm dilated and 75% effaced and that they were going to try to stop labor. i spend all night there and the next day, 8/02/08 at 7 am they told me that i had preclamsia and that the boys needed to come out. every thing happened so fast after that, the surgeon came to explain the c-section, the anesthesiologist to explain what he would do, i am glad it happened fast i did not have time to freak out, but i was worried if the boys would be big enough and healthy enought, after all i was 35 weeks along.

well at 9:30 i was off to the surgery room and at 10:05 Matthew was born at 5lbs and 17 inches and at 10;06 Zachary was born at 4 lbs 12 ounces and 17 inches. i remember looking at them and saying "they are so little" but they were healthy. they spend a few days in the NICU learning to feed and 8/12/08 Matthew came home in the evening and the next day 8/13/08 Zachary came home in the early afternoon. 8/14/08 was Pablo's and I church wedding anniversary and the first full day we had both of the boys at home.

the last three years have been filled with joy and happiness as well as worrying (we are parents after all) it was great watching them sit on their own, crawl, take their first step, first tooth, starting babbling, first words, first laugh, first dance, first sing along, first mama and dada with meaning, first trip, first time eating food, being potty trained, first time at the park, first hike, first beach visit, first art project, every time they experience something new. we also had some scary moments first high fever, first ER visit, first rash, first (and many) head bumps, first head opening (hopefully the last too).

if these three years have being amazing i can just imagine how awesome the years to come will be. i am so blessed not to have one but two super sweet, caring, loving, adorable, friendly, boys in the world, i am enjoying watching them grow and finding their personalities, like and dislikes.

so here we are three years later, Matthew is 38 inches and 33 lbs and Zachary is 37.5 inches and 32 lbs.

they both love to sing and dance, they like to play cars, trains, cooking, they love any art thing chalk, markers, crayons, paint, noddle art, play dough, they love books and i love it when they read it to us, they are both potty trained, they love their tree house, pirates, disneyland, the swings. it is amazing spending time with them (even when I am tired and they are super whinny) i love the time i have with them specially the summer, with so many weeks we have to hang out and play and cook, and pretend.

in a few weeks they will start school, i think it will be great for them to learn to be more social, to be patient and to make new friends, but even thought i will be right there i am still scared to know if they will like it, if they will get along with their peers, and all that. deep down i know they will love it and that makes me look forward to the first day of preschool.
